Our first stop is in the small rural town of Cooroy, which is home to 20 20 Distillery one of the coasts best hidden gems. The Head Distiller will greet you with a drink on arrival before heading on a short tour of the distillery before the venue opens to the public. Then sit back and enjoy a guided tasting of 5 of their award-winning gins including a London Dry, Navy Strength and some amazing styles featuring local fruit. While you are sipping on these hand-crafted small batch spirits, take a moment to cast your eyes over the stunning copper stills and beautifully decorated bar. To accompany your drinks you will also be treated to a cheese board to die for! Keep an eye out for their whisky coming soon.
Relax as your expert local tour guide takes you to our next destination at the beautifully appointed Pomona Distilling Co. This stylish venue features reclaimed timber and a large outdoor dining space which is where you will enjoy lunch with your choice of drink. Choose from a tasting flight of gin featuring their Butterfly Pea Blue Gin, Pink Gin, and Signature Dry Gin, or choose from a glass of wine or sparkling, or even a cold local beer on tap.
Our final stop for the day takes us to visit the very first distillery established on the Sunshine Coast, ‘Fortune’ Distillery Noosa Heads. This distillery is home to the brands Fortune, Noosa Gin, and in July 2021 they also were the first distillery on Sunshine Coast to release a whisky. Choose between a gin tasting flight including Navy Strength, Barrel Aged and some unique small batches, or perhaps a signature gin cocktail to top off your afternoon? The venue is something to admire, as you sit amongst the barrels with the distillery and brewery as a backdrop, along with collections of motorbikes and surfboards on display.
20 20 Distillery
Located in a cool industrial space just out of the regional town of Cooroy and make high end spirits from high quality ingredients. Our East London Dry Gin for example, has only seven botanicals which are very similar to the botanical make ups of the early 1800’s original London Dry, and our single malt whisky is mashed using similar methods that date back to the beginning of Scotch whisky in Scotland distilled in a traditional copper pot still.
Their distilled products are cut on the still ‘the old fashioned way’ by smell and taste, hand bottled and hand labelled.
Pomona Distilling Co
Inspired by the Pomona Spirit – The hard-working farmers, the small business owners, the heritage and most importantly our community. Our town is aptly named after the Goddess of Fruit and Abundance, and just as Pomona did, we want to provide for our town and showcase all that comes from within the 4568 postcode. We want to be the drink to share with friends, the cause for celebration, the place to meet, the space for creative expression and the sense of pride amongst our town
By focusing on artisan methodology, Pomona Distilling Co can take the time to bring careful consideration into every step of the distilling process. Our Master Distiller doesn’t believe in mass production, he believes in delivering only the purist of spirits matched with highest quality botanicals that capture the true Pomona Spirit.
‘Fortune’ Noosa Heads Distillery
Noosa Heads Distillery’s 2000 Litre Copper Pot Reflux Still is a statement in its own. With a total weight of 3.75 tonnes, this behemoth of a still produces ‘Fortune’s’ fine spirits. It has diverse capabilities, with each column differentiating from its predecessor. Each ‘Fortune’ spirits’ unique flavour profile is formed through our traditional distilling methods. our Gin is bathed and boiled much like a traditional London Dry, our Single Malt, pot to condenser keeping true to its roots. All hand bottled, hand labelled, a labour of love
